Immediate Funding Recommendations for #COVID19 initiatives

In Our efforts to provide free content during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are sharing a list of Funds that nonprofits working with essential COVID-19 Initiatives can apply for.

Just Fund

The Just Fund is a group of Philanthropists who that decided the grant application process was tedious for NGOs and should be simplified. Just Fund connects funders directly with grassroots orgs across the Country, enabling groups to file a single proposal and interact with a host of funders. Areas of funding: URGENT NEED, Climate/disaster response and recovery, criminal justice, democracy and civic engagement, economic justice, education, equitable development, food justice, gender and reproductive justice, healthcare, housing in homelessness, human rights and civil rights, immigration, LGBTQ+, racial justice, transportation/utilities/infrastructure, and “other.”

The Emergent Fund

The Emergent Fund is raising money for COVID-19 response through their “The People’s Bailout“ campaign. The Emergent Fund was established immediately after the 2016 election to help move quick resources with no strings attached to communities that were and continue to be under attack by federal policies and priorities— immigrants, women, Muslim and Arab American communities, black people, indigenous communities, LGBTQ communities, and all people of color.

Urgent Action Fund

The Urgent Action Fund gives grants for women’s human rights. They conduct Rapid Response grant-making in climate, advocacy & alliance building and are part of the global consortium of urgent action funds. The Urgent Action Fund’s mission is to partner with women’s movements worldwide to support women’s human rights defenders striving to create cultures of justice, equality and peace.

Groundswell

Groundswell Fund invests in the grassroots leader ship of women of color and are about the well-being of all of us— every person and every community in America. They strengthen the US movement for reproductive and social justice by resourcing intersectional grassroots organizing and centering the leader ship of women of color, particularly those who are black, indigenous, and transgender. They support with Grantmaking, capacity building, and funder organizing,

Arch Community Fund

The Arch Community Fund launched in 2017 in response to the alarming rise of overt racism, xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny, religious intolerance, and corporate dominance in America. Arch supports transformative organizing for systemic change. They prioritize grass roots strategies that meet immediate needs and are part of a strategy for long-term structural change. Last May, when Arch announced its first round of Transformative Oranizing grantees, they gave $500,000 to 22 grassroots nonprofits.

Solidaire

Solitaire is part of the Just Fund network, but it never hurts to reach out directly to a subsidiary if you feel those funders match your grassroots efforts. Solitaire network is a community of donor organizers mobilizing critical resources to the front lines of social justice movements.
